How many Audi cars are on the road?
There were 1,982,111 Audi cars licensed in Great Britain at the end of March 2026, and a further 156,024 declared off the road (SORN). That is 5.9% of all licensed cars, or about 1 in 17, making Audi the No. 5 make on the road. That is the most on the road at any year end since 1994. Diesel makes up 40.5% of licensed Audi cars, against 28.1% of all cars.

In 2025, 78.4% of MOT tests of Audi cars were passed first time, from 1,750,106 tests. Cars of the same ages pass 73.7% of the time, so Audi does better than average for the age of its cars, by 4.7 points. That ranks Audi No. 15 of the 50 makes with enough tests to compare. 6.8% of Audi tests found at least one dangerous defect, against 7.3% for all cars.
Among Audi models with enough tests, the RS4 does best for its age (+24.1 points against cars of the same ages) and the A2 does worst (−4.6 points). Average age at test for Audi cars: 10.0 years.
