Driving tests Driving test and theory test data (DRT tables) Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency April 2025 to March 2026 1,998,621 car practical tests in 2025/26 15 September 2026
  • Car practical tests (categories B and B1), Great Britain, financial years April to March. DVSA does not test in Northern Ireland, where the DVA runs tests.
  • Centres where only one examiner tested are left out of centre figures but counted nationally. DVSA withholds small counts where they could identify people, and warns that fewer than 100 tests is not a sound basis for comparison.
  • Centres are matched across years by name (ignoring case, spacing and the “(London)” DVSA added later). Closed centres are left out.
  • DVSA’s tables give centre names only, with no address, so centres are not placed in council areas and regional averages are not calculated.
