How do I find the cheapest petrol near me?
Enter your postcode, postcode district or town in the finder above, or share your location, and it lists the forecourts near you from cheapest to dearest with the price each one last reported. The prices come from the government's Fuel Finder scheme and are refreshed twice a day.
Are these the actual prices at the pump?
They are the prices each forecourt reported to the Fuel Finder scheme, which retailers must take part in. A station can change its price after it reports, so treat the figure as the latest reported price rather than a guarantee. Every forecourt page says when its price was last reported.
Do I have to share my location?
No. A postcode, postcode district or town name works just as well. If you do share your location it stays in your browser: the search runs on your device and the location is never sent to us.
Is supermarket fuel cheaper?
Today supermarket forecourts average 168.4p for unleaded against 170.9p at other forecourts, a difference of 2.5p a litre, or about £1.38 on a 55-litre tank.
Which fuel brand is cheapest?
Of the brands with 50 or more forecourts, Solo has the cheapest average unleaded today at 160.7p a litre. Brand averages move daily and depend on where a brand's forecourts are, so the cheapest station near you may carry a different brand.
Why is motorway fuel more expensive?
Motorway service areas charge more for their location and captive custom: today they average 20.5p a litre more than other forecourts. Coming off at a junction to a supermarket forecourt is usually cheaper, even allowing for the detour.
How often do the prices change?
Forecourts can change their prices daily, and the scheme requires them to report changes. We read the feed twice a day, so the prices here are never more than about twelve hours old, and each page shows the time of the last check.

- Searches run in your browser against a file built with the site. Neither the postcode you type nor your location is sent to us.
- A forecourt that has not reported a price, or whose price looks implausible, is left out of the averages.
