Land Rover Range Rover Sport fuel economy and CO2
The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Land Rover Range Rover Sport from 2005 to 2024. On the WLTP test (listings 2019 to 2024), official combined fuel economy for its petrol and diesel versions ranges from 18.8 to 32.1 mpg, with CO2 of 231 to 339 g/km; plug-in hybrid versions are rated at 75.3 to 86.9 mpg (weighted). On the older NEDC test (listings 2005 to 2018), official combined fuel economy for its petrol, diesel, petrol hybrid and diesel hybrid versions ranges from 17.8 to 101.0 mpg, with CO2 of 64 to 374 g/km.

Defect
A concern has been identified on certain AJ20-D6 engines where the Front End Auxiliary Drive (FEAD) belt idler pulley may over-rotate following a high torsion input and lead to a clash with and damage to the oil pressure and temperature sensor. A damaged oil pressure and temperature sensor can lead to an oil leak from the engine which can result in a slip hazard for following road users particularly two-wheeled vehicles.
Remedy
Vehicles will have the Front-End Auxiliary Drive (FEAD) idler pulley replaced.
