Police recorded 1,048 collisions with the A35 as the first road from 2021 to 2025, 296 of them fatal or serious, including 17 fatal. That is 33.5 per 100 million vehicle miles, close to the 31.5 for all A-roads in Great Britain. On average there were 2.1 a year for each mile of road.
