VSM software missing AEB telltale in case of blind camera.

Defect
On certain Peugeot vehicles the Automatic Emergency Braking Assist telltale fails to illuminate if the front camera is blocked. No AEB warning telltale meaning no warning light appears in the instrument cluster. An additional pop-up appears for around 10 seconds at each key on/key off (Driving Assistance Sensor Blind: clean sensor see User Manual). The Automatic Emergency Braking system is operating in a degraded mode but remains functional due to radar support.
Remedy
To rectify this issue we will update the Vehicle System Management software

Defect
Vehicles may be affected by incorrect performance of the On-Board-Diagnostics related to Selective Catalytic Reduction system and/or Diesel Particle Filter. The Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) may not illuminate in the event of a malfunction and therefore does not comply with emission regulations.
Remedy
Update the Engine Control Unit software to ensure compliance to regulations.

Defect
Vehicles may be affected by premature wearing of the camshaft drive chain leading to abnormal noise or to a breakage of the chain in the worst case.
Remedy
Update the software to improve oil pressure and reduce wear. Check the engine noise and replace the chain if required. If no problem found change the oil to one with higher viscosity and special anti-wear additives.

The timing belt will be checked and if needed replaced with other components of the braking assistance system and the vacuum pump.

Glass panel may detach without warning

The bonding of the tailgate components may not be to specification this could affect the retention of bonded parts over time. The owner could notice the individual components becoming loose or detached from the tailgate such as brackets bonded trim panels etc If left unnoticed bonded items could become detached from the tailgate.

Fuel may leak

Defect
The fuel heating device integrated in to the diesel fuel filter cover may be defective and allow heat to build up within the electrical supply connector causing the cover to distort and air to enter the fuel circuit. This could make the vehicles difficult to start and a warning light will be illuminated on the dash board. The engine could be difficult or not possible to start. In the worst cases a diesel fuel leak could eventually appear.
Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the fuel heater cover. Additionally the electrical connector will be inspected and where necessary replaced.

It has been established that the high pressure fuel rail pipes on the engine have not been torqued to the correct specification. This can result in poor sealing of the rail which can cause as fuel leak onto the engine. If the vaporised fuel comes into contact with a hot engine component there can be a risk of an engine bay fire.
Remedy
Recall all the affected vehicles and retorque the high pressure fuel rail pipes.

It is possible the mountings for the steering mechanism to engine subframe may not have been torqued to the correct specification. If this is the case the issue will be highlighted to the driver by noise or play in the steering. If the driver fails to take action to rectify the issue the steering may detach causing a possible loss of control.

It has been identified that the welds which secure the bonnet locking assembly may prove inadequate in use. This can result in difficulty closing the bonnet or failure of the lock to properly engage.
Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have a strengthening component fitted to the bonnet lining to ensure that the trigger cable remains firmly secured to the bonnet. In very rare cases and only if necessarythe bonnet will be replaced.
