How many Mercedes-Benz CLA-Classes are left in Great Britain?
There were 112,497 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Classes licensed in Great Britain at the end of March 2026, and a further 2,288 declared off the road (SORN).
That is the most on the road at any year end since 2013.

How we use engine sizes.
Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class fuel economy and CO2
The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class from 2013, and still lists it. On the WLTP test (listings 2020 to 2026), official combined fuel economy for its petrol, diesel and petrol hybrid versions ranges from 30.7 to 61.4 mpg, with CO2 of 123 to 209 g/km; electric versions have an official range of 278 to 492 miles; plug-in hybrid versions are rated at 97.4 to 403.6 mpg (weighted). On the older NEDC test (listings 2013 to 2018), official combined fuel economy for its petrol and diesel versions ranges from 38.7 to 70.6 mpg, with CO2 of 105 to 171 g/km.

Defect
Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that in certain CLA (174 platform) and GLB (244 platform) vehicles the circuit board for the power electronics of the rear electric drive unit might not meet the specifications.
Remedy
As a remedy Mercedes-Benz AG via its Mercedes-Benz service partners will replace the power electronics of the rear electric drive unit on the affected vehicles.
A recall applies to cars built on particular dates or with particular VINs, not to every Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class. The details come from manufacturers through DVSA, which says they may be delayed or

MOT figures cover normal tests of cars aged three and over in 2025; retests are excluded. Age is rounded to the nearest year.
DVSA records the model name typed in at the test. We match those names to DVLA’s generic models, so a handful of tests may be counted under a close relative.
