How many Mercedes-Benz AMG-Classes are left in Great Britain?

There were 53,614 Mercedes-Benz AMG-Classes licensed in Great Britain at the end of March 2026, and a further 2,918 declared off the road (SORN). That is the most on the road at any year end since 2014.

Mercedes-Benz AMG-Class engine sizes and fuel types

Of the 53,454 Mercedes-Benz AMG-Classes licensed in the UK at the end of 2025, 44.7% have an engine of 1,901cc to 2,000cc, and 30.3% have an engine of 2,901cc to 3,000cc. The share with an engine of 2,901cc to 3,000cc has grown from 0.0% in 2015 to 30.3%. Petrols made up 100.0% of those licensed in 2015 and 75.7% in 2025.

Mercedes-Benz AMG-Class fuel economy and CO2

The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Mercedes-Benz AMG-Class from 2015, and still lists it. On the WLTP test (listings 2020 to 2026), official combined fuel economy for its petrol versions ranges from 20.0 to 27.4 mpg, with CO2 of 235 to 319 g/km; electric versions have an official range of 373 to 426 miles; plug-in hybrid versions are rated at 25.2 to 35.8 mpg (weighted). On the older NEDC test (listings 2015 to 2018), official combined fuel economy for its petrol versions ranges from 22.6 to 30.4 mpg, with CO2 of 216 to 284 g/km.

• Official figures from laboratory type-approval tests. VCA says they may not be achieved in real-world driving, and should not be used to rank cars with similar figures.
