Kia Niro fuel economy and CO2
The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Kia Niro from 2017, and still lists it. On the WLTP test (listings 2019 to 2026), official combined fuel economy for its petrol hybrid versions ranges from 53.3 to 64.2 mpg, with CO2 of 100 to 120 g/km; electric versions have an official range of 179 to 286 miles; plug-in hybrid versions are rated at 201.8 to 353.1 mpg (weighted). On the older NEDC test (listings 2017 to 2018), official combined fuel economy for its petrol and petrol hybrid versions ranges from 64.2 to 76.3 mpg, with CO2 of 86 to 101 g/km; electric versions have an official range of 298 miles; plug-in hybrid versions are rated at 217.3 mpg (weighted).

Defect
The printed circuit board (PCB) in the Hydraulic Clutch Actuator (HCA) may become contaminated with fluid. A fluid contaminated PCB may lead to an electrical short circuit which in extreme cases may potentially result in a fire in the engine compartment while driving.
Remedy
Check vehicle for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) if HCA related codes are found replace the HCA the connector and reduced amperage fuse. If no related DTC are recorded fit reduced amperage fuse only.
