Jaguar E-Pace MOT reliability

In 2025, 87.3% of Jaguar E-Pace MOT tests were passed first time, against 72.8% for all cars. Cars of the same ages as the Jaguar E-Paces tested pass 84.5% of the time, so the Jaguar E-Pace does better than average for its age, by 2.8 points. In 2024 its pass rate was 87.7%.

Most common Jaguar E-Pace MOT defects and advisories

The single most common reason a Jaguar E-Pace failed its MOT in 2025 was “Wipers: does not clear the windscreen effectively”, on 17.1% of 4,101 failed tests. 43.8% of tests ended with at least one advisory, a problem to watch that did not fail the test; the most common was “Brake discs: worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened”. The same fault on any wheel or side counts once.

Jaguar E-Pace fuel economy and CO2

The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Jaguar E-Pace from 2018 to 2024. On the WLTP test (listings 2019 to 2024), official combined fuel economy for its petrol and diesel versions ranges from 26.2 to 42.7 mpg, with CO2 of 174 to 244 g/km. On the older NEDC test (listings 2018), official combined fuel economy for its petrol and diesel versions ranges from 35.3 to 60.1 mpg, with CO2 of 124 to 181 g/km.

Defect
Vehicles have experienced thermal overload which may manifest in smoke or fire that may occur underneath the rear of the vehicle where the high voltage traction battery is located. The root cause is not yet known and investigations are continuing. A vehicle thermal overload condition such as fire or smoke can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle as well as property damage.
Remedy
Vehicles will be inspected by the retailer and as required at-risk battery packs will be replaced.
