2,064 battery electric cars were licensed in Angus at the end of June 2026, 3.4% of all cars, 129th lowest of 361 councils. With plug-in hybrids, 3,188 cars plug in. A year earlier there were 1,477.

Of the privately kept cars, which are registered at home addresses, 3.0% are battery electric (1,739 cars), 14th lowest of 32 councils in Scotland. Companies keep 15.7% of the area’s battery electric cars, against 4.7% of its cars overall. There are also 64 battery electric vans.
