Of 204 council areas, Hackney has the most collisions for the traffic on its roads: 287.7 per 100 million vehicle miles from 2021 to 2025. Aberdeenshire has the fewest, at 7.2. 10 of the 10 highest are London boroughs.

A collision counts in the council area police record for it; for counties, the area of the highway authority.
Rates divide collisions by DfT’s estimate of vehicle miles on all roads in the area, minor roads included, over the same years.
Change compares the first and last year of the period.
Counts of one or two are shown as “fewer than 3”.
Codes follow today’s councils: older records are moved to the council that replaced theirs.
