In 2025, 54.2% of Renault Espace MOT tests were passed first time, against 72.8% for all cars. Cars of the same ages as the Renault Espaces tested pass 59.6% of the time, so the Renault Espace does worse than average for its age, by 5.4 points. In 2024 its pass rate was 51.1%.

Of the 778 Renault Espaces licensed in the UK at the end of 2025, 74.6% have an engine of 1,901cc to 2,000cc, and 12.1% have an engine of 2,101cc to 2,200cc. The share with an engine of 1,901cc to 2,000cc has grown from 41.2% in 2014 to 74.6%. Diesels made up 68.1% of those licensed in 2014 and 76.3% in 2025.

Renault Espace fuel economy and CO2

The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Renault Espace from 2000, when the data begins, to 2011. On the NEDC test (listings 2000 to 2011), official combined fuel economy for its petrol and diesel versions ranges from 22.8 to 43.5 mpg, with CO2 of 170 to 297 g/km.
