How we use engine sizes.
Mazda MX-5 fuel economy and CO2
The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Mazda MX-5 from 2000, when the data begins, and still lists it. On the WLTP test (listings 2019 to 2026), official combined fuel economy for its petrol and petrol hybrid versions ranges from 37.2 to 45.6 mpg, with CO2 of 140 to 171 g/km. On the older NEDC test (listings 2000 to 2018), official combined fuel economy for its petrol versions ranges from 29.8 to 47.1 mpg, with CO2 of 139 to 232 g/km.

Defect
On affected vehicles The brackets used to secure the fuel pipes to the engine may not be tightened sufficiently. If the engine is repeatedly operated at high speed such as during circuit driving vibrations may cause the fuel pipe to resonate potentially causing the pipe to leak. The fuel leakage may increase the risk of fire.
A recall applies to cars built on particular dates or with particular VINs, not to every Mazda MX-5. The details come from manufacturers through DVSA, which says they may be delayed or
