There were not enough MOT tests of Kia EV9s in 2025 to publish reliable figures: we need at least 1,000 tests of cars aged three and over. Cars have their first MOT at three years old, so newer models appear once they reach that age. How we work out MOT figures.

The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Kia EV9 from 2024, and still lists it. On the WLTP test (listings 2024 to 2026), its electric versions have an official range of 313 to 350 miles.

Official figures from laboratory type-approval tests. VCA says they may not be achieved in
real-world driving, and should not be used to rank cars with similar figures.
Electric cars produce no exhaust CO2; range and miles per kWh are VCA’s official figures.

Kia EV9 safety recalls
DVSA lists 4 safety recalls for the Kia EV9 since 1992, the first in 2024. The most recent was launched on 24 April 2026.
The instrument cluster screen may respond slowly immediately after starting the vehicle. During this condition activating the turn signal can cause the cluster to reset or the Blind View Monitor (BVM) within the cluster to turn green. The malfunction is caused by PMIC noise induced falsely high temperature sensor readings which trigger the chip protection logic above a certain threshold and lead to performance limitation up to reboot or black screen.

Over The Air software update or dealer software update
A recall applies to cars built on particular dates or with particular VINs, not to every Kia EV9. The details come from manufacturers through DVSA, which says they may be delayed or
incomplete. To check a specific car, use GOV.UK’s vehicle recall check or ask the manufacturer or a
dealer. How we match recalls to models.
