Defect
For certain vehicles equipped with a Parking Assist ECU a component of the Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system that displays the rear view image the software may cause the rear view image to freeze or not display
Remedy
Reprogram the parking assist ECU.

Combination Meter Reprogramming on Multiple Models

Defect
For certain vehicles equipped with the combination meter system (where various information is displayed) that due to an improper programming of the combination meter unnecessarily repetitive data is written to a memory device. This may cause the memory device to deteriorate and the monitor to not display during the meter at start up and remain in this state permanently.
Remedy
Reprogram or replace the combination meter.

High-Pressure Fuel Pump replacement on multiple models

Defect
For certain vehicles that were affected by a previous campaign announced in October 2023 for high-pressure fuel pump a further check is required to confirm if the correct pump is fitted.
Remedy
A check of the high-pressure fuel pump and replace if necessary.

Remote Parking via Mobile App on Certain Toyota C-HR

Launched 19 February 2024 DVSA recall R/2023/349 Manufacturer ref. YGG94 (23SD-153)

Defect
Affected vehicles are equipped with an advanced park system which can be operated remotely by the driver when outside the vehicle using a smartphone application. There is a risk an error may occur in an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) when the finger movements on the smartphone application are stopped or the finger is removed within three seconds after the remote-control function is activated. If this occurs the shift range will be changed from Park to Drive or Reverse and the brakes will be released without any finger operation on the smartphone resulting in the vehicle creeping forward or backward which could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Reprogram the Clearance Sonar Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and Brake Electronic Control Unit (ECU) with modified software.

On affected vehicles there is a possibility that the DCM may not complete the shutdown process within a specific period of time when the ignition is turned off causing the DCM to not restart at the next ignition cycle and making the e-Call function unavailable. As a result the vehicles do not comply with relevant regulations.

Defect
On affected vehicles there is a possibility that the DCM may not complete the shutdown process within a specific period of time when the ignition is turned off causing the DCM to not restart at the next ignition cycle and making the e-Call function unavailable. Remedy
The software of the DCM (Data Communication Module) will be updated via an Over the Air (OTA) wireless update.

Engine wire harness connected to hybrid vehicle power control unit could contact cover

Defect
Due to assembly variation a portion of the engine wire harness could contact the cover.Should the insulation wear and the core wires become exposed there is an increased risk of a vehicle fire.
Remedy
Inspect the engine wire harness and repair or replace it if necessary.

Skid control ECU may malfunction

Launched 1 February 2018 DVSA recall R/2017/310 Manufacturer ref. GGG87

Defect
The Skid Control ECU may incorrectly interpret signals and may malfunction. This may affect the operation of the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) although an EPB warning lamp will illuminate and a warning message will display.
Remedy
On affected vehicle reprogramme the skid control ECU to correct this.

Fuel may leak

Defect
There is a possibility that the wall thickness of the fuel tank may be thinner than specification due to improper tank moulding at the supplier. This may allow fuel to leak which could ignite if an ignition source is present..
Remedy
On affected vehicles inspect walls of tank and replace where necessary

Invertor capacitor may not be secure

Launched 4 December 2017 DVSA recall R/2017/286 Manufacturer ref. GGG82

Defect
The hybrid system of the subject vehicles includes an inverter assembly which contains a capacitor that may not have been properly bolted to the inverter housing. In this condition the terminal of the capacitor could be damaged by vibration during normal vehicle operation.
Remedy
On affected vehicles replace the invertor assembly
