Defect
Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that on certain CLA (174 platform) A-Class (177 platform) and GLA (247 platform) vehicles the bowden cable of the release mechanism of one or more doors might not have been properly mounted.
Remedy
As a precautionary measure Mercedes-Benz AG via its Mercedes-Benz service partners will check the bowden cables of the doors on the affected vehicles and mount them correctly if necessary.

If the material of the gas generator housing fails during airbag deployment in the event of a crash the airbag system would possibly no longer have a restraint effect. In addition separating parts could enter the passenger compartment. This could lead to an increased risk of injury.

It has been determined that the A-Class 177 might have some missing welding points in the area of both front side members. It is possible that due to a deviation in the internal production process a couple of welding points could not have been set.
