How many Lexus cars are on the road?
There were 205,121 Lexus cars licensed in Great Britain at the end of March 2026, and a further 17,807 declared off the road (SORN). That is 0.61% of all licensed cars, or about 1 in 164, making Lexus the No. 28 make on the road. That is the most on the road at any year end since 1994. Hybrid makes up 76.2% of licensed Lexus cars, against 9.0% of all cars.

In 2025, 78.6% of MOT tests of Lexus cars were passed first time, from 68,229 tests. Cars of the same ages pass 68.1% of the time, so Lexus does better than average for the age of its cars, by 10.5 points. That ranks Lexus No. 7 of the 50 makes with enough tests to compare. 6.3% of Lexus tests found at least one dangerous defect, against 7.3% for all cars.
Among Lexus models with enough tests, the SC 430 does best for its age (+16.6 points against cars of the same ages) and the IS 200 does worst (+5.2 points). Average age at test for Lexus cars: 13.7 years.
