The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Toyota GR86 from 2023 to 2024. On the WLTP test (listings 2023 to 2024), official combined fuel economy for its petrol versions ranges from 32.1 mpg, with CO2 of 199 to 200 g/km.

DVSA lists 2 safety recalls for the Toyota GR86 since 1992, the first in 2022. The most recent was launched on 13 November 2023.
Affected vehicles have an inappropriate design of the control circuit of the rear combination lamp and the voltage applied to the LEDs in the rear combination lamp could be reduced in certain circumstances. If this were to occur the rear turn signals and/or the hazard warning flasher may temporarily become inoperable. If the condition is present the driver may notice the turn signal indicator rapidly flashing on the instrument panel when the turn signal switch is turned on but other road users may not realize that the rear turn signal or the hazard warning flasher have been activated potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect
