Not every Porsche Cayenne is affected. Each recall covers cars built on particular dates or with
particular VINs, which DVSA’s file does not list in full. To check a specific car, use

Defect
On affected vehicles the screw connection of the high-pressure pump was not implemented in accordance with the technical specifications. This can lead to a leak and the possibility of the fuel igniting.
Remedy
Check the screw connections of both high-pressure pumps and replace the high-pressure pumps and fuel lines if necessary.

Defect
The circlip on the bearing bracket for the pedals may detach. If this occurs the brake pedal will become unsecured axially and come out of one of the two bearings leading to decreased brake functionality.
Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the fitment of the circlip and replaced as necessary.

Fuel may leak - possibility of fire

Defect
Fuel may leak from the injector fuel rails. Occupants may notice a smell and though small there is a risk of fire.
The turbo chargers fitted to the affected vehicles may not be manufactured to the required standard. The result of one or both of the turbo chargers failing is rough running and lack of power. In the worst case scenario there is a possibility that fire could occur.
Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the turbo chargers.
If a headlight module is not locked correctly relative movements with respect to the wing can occur. In rare cases this can cause the headlight to become detached from the wing. Based on results from internal quality control checks and individual complaints Porsche has decided to incorporate measures to make the locking system more robust into standard production and they will retrofit these changes on existing models.
Remedy
Affected vehicles will be recalled to have the locking mechanism on both headlights replaced.

Fuel may leak

Defect
It has been identified that the possibility exists that a fuel line within the scuttle panel area may be in contact with the engine compartment cover. This can result in a knocking noise and the fuel line becoming damaged with the attendant possibility that a fuel leak may occur.
Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the routing of the fuel line changed and an additional spacer fitted. In the event of damage to the fuel line it will be replaced.

Filling the fuel tank may cause an electrostatic charge

Defect
There is a possibility that the ground connection between the thread of the tank filler neck and the connecting pipe to the fuel tank may not be sound which may result in an electrostatic charge which in rare cases could create a spark which could ignite fuel vapours in the area outside of the tank filler neck which could lead to a muffled detonation..
Remedy
Recall affected vehicles inspect and if necessary rework ground connection.
