Cupra Formentor fuel economy and CO2
The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Cupra Formentor from 2021, and still lists it. On the WLTP test (listings 2021 to 2026), official combined fuel economy for its petrol and petrol hybrid versions ranges from 32.1 to 47.9 mpg, with CO2 of 133 to 198 g/km; plug-in hybrid versions are rated at 176.6 to 235.4 mpg (weighted).

Cupra Formentor safety recalls
DVSA lists 10 safety recalls for the Cupra Formentor since 1992, the first in 2020. The most recent was launched on 26 January 2024.
On certain vehicles with electromechanical brake servo and DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) of a limited production period there is a possibility that a heat protection mat was incorrectly fitted. In individual cases the brake fluid reservoir can melt and cause a brake fluid leak into the engine compartment.

Defect

Remedy
A check of the installation of the heat protection mat on affected vehicles will be conducted. If necessary the correct heat shield condition will be restored and an additional heat shield installed.
