Cupra Terramar MOT reliability

Cupra Terramar fuel economy and CO2

The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Cupra Terramar from 2025, and still lists it. On the WLTP test (listings 2025 to 2026), official combined fuel economy for its petrol and petrol hybrid versions ranges from 33.2 to 47.1 mpg, with CO2 of 136 to 193 g/km; plug-in hybrid versions are rated at 156.9 to 176.6 mpg (weighted).

  • Official figures from laboratory type-approval tests. VCA says they may not be achieved in real-world driving, and should not be used to rank cars with similar figures.

Defect
On affected vehicles a joint at the pyrotechnic inflator of the front seat belt retractors was not welded correctly presenting a risk of vehicle occupants being injured by small parts coming loose in the event of an accident.
Remedy
Replace the affected seat belts.
