Injector mounting nuts tightening force may be insufficient

Defect
The tightening force of the injector mounting nuts may be insufficient. This could cause combustion gas to leak from the injector and contaminate the engine oil within the cylinder head. This in turn could cause the engine oil strainer to become blocked. This could cause the engine to stall. Engine Pressure Oil Light appears along with the engine malfunction indicator. Possible Engine Stall without Warning
Remedy
Vehicles affected will have the engine checked for contamination and repaired / replaced if necessary. The Fuel injectors will also be re-tightened to the appropriate torque.

Defect
The Software controlling the fuel injectors does not control the electric current correctly. This may cause the injector control circuit to short circuit and cause the engine to stall. Results in possible Engine Stall without Warning

Vacuum pump may wear prematurely.

Defect
The vacuum pump may wear prematurely meaning that in some applications where the brake pedal is pressed quickly whilst at low engine speed the servo assistance provided by the vacuum system in decreased. This could cause a momentary decrease in braking performance. Braking assistance available to the driver can be reduced

Software error can cause engine to fail

Defect
On the subject vehicles the engine protection logic does not work properly. When the engine speed reaches maximum with no engine load present the software is unable to cut the engine. This could in extreme cases cause catastrophic engine failure. Immediate and catastrophic engine damage may result.
Remedy
Re-program the engine protection software within the PCM.

Mounting points for seat runner may fail

Launched 31 May 2017 DVSA recall R/2017/150

Defect
One or more of the mounting points between the runner and the driver’s seat may fail.
Remedy
On affected vehicles inspect the driver’s seat frame to determine if seat lifter links are damaged. If no damage is evident fit reinforcement brackets and push nuts. If damage is present to the seat lifter link replace seat frame. If damage is restricted to stabilizer bar then the bar will be repaired plus brackets and push nuts fitted.

Defect
Front windscreen motor may suddenly stop operating. The cause of the problem is due to a poor electrical earth connection.
Remedy
The remedy is a fitment of an additional earth wire between the wiper motor and body of the vehicle.

Engine mounting may fail under sudden acceleration

Defect
It has been identified that the number 4 engine mounting bolt may not have been tightened to the correct torque during production. This could result in the engine mounting failing under sudden acceleration.
Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the mounting bolt checked for compliance. Should the torque on the subject bolt be found to be outside of the specification.The appropriate action as described in the technical instruction will be applied as necessary.

Engine mounting bolt may fail

Defect
No 4 Engine mounting tightening bolt may loosen if a sudden acceleration is repeatedly carried out. If vehicle is continually used under such conditions No 4 mounting bolt may drop off and break allowing transmission to be out of position and in the worst case the driveshaft may detach resulting in loss of drive.
Remedy
Recall affected vehicles to check mounting bolt torque and if necessary replace bolt with modified version.

Engine may seize

Launched 16 August 2006 DVSA recall R/2006/114

Defect
It has been identified that on a small number of vehicles the oil feed in the cylinder head and camshaft carrier may not be correctly aligned allowing the oil flow to be restricted. If this this allowed to continue it is likely to result in an engine malfunction when the mileage exceeds 62000.
Remedy
Recalled vehicles will be checked for their presence in the affected range and fitted with a new partial engine if so identified.
