Fiat Idea fuel economy and CO2
The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Fiat Idea from 2004 to 2006. On the NEDC test (listings 2004 to 2006), official combined fuel economy for its petrol and diesel versions ranges from 42.8 to 60.1 mpg, with CO2 of 123 to 157 g/km.

Front suspension arm mountings - failure of weld

Defect
There is a possibility that corrosion may be present near the welds for the front suspension arm front mountings on the front cross member.Should this be the case in time this could lead to noise whilst driving and the possibility that the weld could fail. Failure of the weld may lead to loss of vehicle stability.
Remedy
Recalled vehicle will be checked to ascertain whether corrosion is present near the front suspension mountings. If this is found to be the case the front cross member will be replaced. If corrosion is not present a front cross member strengthening kit will be fitted.
