In 2025, 70.8% of DS DS5 MOT tests were passed first time, against 72.8% for all cars. Cars of the same ages as the DS DS5s tested pass 76.4% of the time, so the DS DS5 does worse than average for its age, by 5.6 points. In 2024 its pass rate was 75.1%.

The single most common reason a DS DS5 failed its MOT in 2025 was “Drive shafts: constant velocity boot split or insecure, no longer prevents the ingress of dirt”, on 27.4% of 380 failed tests. 47.7% of tests ended with at least one advisory, a problem to watch that did not fail the test; the most common was “Tread depth: worn close to legal limit or worn on edge”. The same fault on any wheel or side counts once.

DS DS5 engine sizes and fuel types

Of the 1,309 DS DS5s licensed in the UK at the end of 2025, 76.8% have an engine of 1,901cc to 2,000cc, and 22.2% have an engine of 1,501cc to 1,600cc. The share with an engine of 1,501cc to 1,600cc has fallen from 33.6% in 2015 to 22.2%.

DS DS5 fuel economy and CO2

The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the DS DS5 from 2015 to 2018. On the NEDC test (listings 2015 to 2018), official combined fuel economy for its petrol, diesel and diesel hybrid versions ranges from 45.6 to 72.4 mpg, with CO2 of 102 to 144 g/km.
