There were not enough MOT tests of Alfa Romeo Tonales in 2025 to publish reliable figures: we need at least 1,000 tests of cars aged three and over. Cars have their first MOT at three years old, so newer models appear once they reach that age. How we work out MOT figures.

How we use engine sizes.
Alfa Romeo Tonale fuel economy and CO2
The Vehicle Certification Agency’s new car data lists the Alfa Romeo Tonale from 2023, and still lists it. On the WLTP test (listings 2023 to 2026), official combined fuel economy for its petrol hybrid versions ranges from 44.3 to 50.1 mpg, with CO2 of 127 to 144 g/km; plug-in hybrid versions are rated at 165.7 to 250.2 mpg (weighted).
Official WLTP figures by engine and fuel, listed 2023 to 2026
Official WLTP figures by engine and fuel, listed 2023 to 2026
Official figures from laboratory type-approval tests. VCA says they may not be achieved in
real-world driving, and should not be used to rank cars with similar figures.
Plug-in hybrid figures are VCA’s weighted values, which count driving on battery power as
well as on fuel.
Engine sizes are rounded to the nearest 0.1 litre. A version is one line in
VCA’s data (description, gearbox, engine and fuel), counted once however many years it was
listed.
Matched from VCA’s model names “Tonale MY23”, “Tonale MY24”, “Tonale MY25”. How we use VCA’s figures.

Defect
Vehicle reliability and your safety are a major concern for Alfa Romeo. On some Alfa Romeo Tonale vehicles the infotainment display may not activate at key-on remaining completely black. This situation is a non-compliance to regulatory requirements.
Remedy
The free of charge repair is the Alfa Romeo retailer who will update the vehicle software. Alfa Romeo ref: F50P.
A recall applies to cars built on particular dates or with particular VINs, not to every Alfa Romeo Tonale. The details come from manufacturers through DVSA, which says they may be delayed or
incomplete. To check a specific car, use GOV.UK’s vehicle recall check or ask the manufacturer or a
dealer. How we match recalls to models.
