Alternator Protection

Launched 18 March 2026 DVSA recall R/2026/113 Manufacturer ref. F60F

Defect
On affected vehicles due to a production nonconformity there may be contact or a reduced clearance between the fuel Particulate Filter pipe and the pole protection cup of the 48V Belt Starter Generator. Under wet conditions there is a possibility that this insufficient clearance may lead to water infiltration creating an electrical arc which could trigger a thermal event such as overheating. In the worst-case scenario this could result in a risk of fire in the engine compartment.
Remedy
Replace the pole protection cup of the 48V Belt Starter Generator. In addition check the distance between the fuel Particulate Filter pipe and the pole protection cup of the 48V Belt Starter Generator. If the distance is less than 10 mm re-position the pipe or replace the pipe if damaged.

Defect
On a number of Alfa Romeo Junior vehicles due to a production nonconformity there is a requirement to inspect the brake pedal bracket connection and if necessary perform a rework to eliminate any potential risk of brake pedal disengagement In the event of brake pedal failure the Electronic Park Brake located on the centre console can be applied while driving to bring the vehicle to a controlled stop. Additionally when active the Automatic Emergency Braking system will intervene if it detects an imminent collision.
Remedy
The permanent repair involves the Alfa Romeo dealer checking for the presence of the clip confirming correct assembly and reworking it if necessary in accordance with Alfa Romeo reference F53E.

Alfa Romeo Junior fuel pipe

Defect
On affected vehicles there is a risk of a fuel leak at the high-pressure fuel pipe and rail connections which in a worst-case could result in a vehicle fire.
Remedy
Check and tighten high-pressure fuel pipe and rail connections.
