Chris Richards is the founder of UK Motoring, a free site that brings together official data on Britain’s cars, roads and fuel so drivers can find it in one place. He is also behind SimplyQuote, the insurance comparison site at SimplyQuote.co.uk.
A lifelong petrolhead and supercar lover, Chris writes on a range of motoring topics: fuel prices, the cost of running a car, car insurance, new and used cars, and what the official figures say about Britain’s roads.
His fuel stories are built on the prices that forecourts across the UK report to the government’s Fuel Finder scheme, which UK Motoring reads twice a day, and he looks after the free fuel finder and the Saturday cheapest-fuel email.
As founder, Chris oversees what UK Motoring publishes: the official datasets it draws on, how every figure is checked against its source, and how the data stories explain them for drivers, buyers and journalists. Journalists can contact him for comment through the contact page.
